Project Overview: Line 2 of the Tabriz Urban Railway has a total length of 22.5 kilometers, starting from the Gharamalek area in western Tabriz. It passes through 20 underground stations, crossing the city center, Abbasi Street, and Baghmisheh Boulevard, and reaches the Tabriz International Exhibition Center in the east. This line is planned to be commissioned in three operational phases: Phase 1 covers a 10 km stretch from the western depot to Station S08. Phase 2 continues from Station S08 to Station S16 in Baghmisheh Boulevard, with a length of 7.5 km. Phase 3 extends the line further east to Station S20, adding another 5 km. Each station platform is designed to be 110 meters long, suitable for 5-car trains, each approximately 100 meters in length. The ventilation system includes UPE and OTE systems that not only supply fresh air to public areas but also control station ventilation in various scenarios using SUPPLY and EXHAUST air flows. Inter-station tunnels are equipped with ventilation shafts at both ends as well as intermediate shafts. For traction power supply, energy is provided by three main substations located at Gharamalek, Roshani, and Shafa, adjacent to Stations S01, S08, and S15, respectively. A dedicated 20kV substation transforms the incoming 63kV power to 20kV, which is then distributed to SWS substations within stations and subsequently to traction substations.
